Bitstreams Release Notes
Release v2.13.0 - June 8th, 2026
Requirements
- Quadra Firmware v5.5.1
- Blackmagic SDK Version 16.0
- Platform: AMD/x86 (ARM support is available, but testing was limited)
New Features and Improvements
- Add SMPTE 2110 support for Blackmagic capture card input mode using SDP file based setup
- Source timestamp rewind/fastforward tolerance and alert system
- srt_pull url query config options and defaults for latency and timeout
- Add per-stream Runtime Settings to override valid config.toml runtime parameters for live streaming, configurable via GUI (Form and Raw views), REST API, and CSV import; settings are now also applied to manual source probe and failover probe
- Add template option to support dynamic overlay image changes on live streams
- Support H.264/H.265 Profile and Level settings in template, including global defaults and per-output overrides
- (x64 only) Add support for LCEVC headers with null encoding for HLS output mode using H264 codec, enable in templates
- Audio rescue for UDP multicast failover: when the active source's usable audio PID count drops below the per-stream Min Required Audio PIDs threshold, switch to the alternate side that meets the threshold; auto-fallback after the configured Failover Recovery Interval once the original side recovers
- Add local file loop input type for live streams, seamlessly looping a local media file under /mnt as an offline source
- Improve security for GUI via package updates
Resolved Issues
- Fix HLS ingest playlist DTS discontinuity + rewind demux stalling
- Fix inconsistent "Mixing RAW SDI outputs and encoded outputs is not supported." error on Create Template Video page
- Reject audio copy of incompatible source codecs into non-mpegts containers at probe time instead of failing at start of muxing
Known Issues
- HLS SCTE-35 Passthrough may lose traction after running for some time
- Changing the template for HLS/DASH playback that has recording enabled while the stream is running can cause recording to fail
- Local loop HLS input: live and rolling-window sources (without #EXT-X-ENDLIST) play through once but may not loop
Release v2.12.0 - April 24th, 2026
Requirements
- Quadra Firmware v5.5.1
- Blackmagic SDK Version 15.0
- Platform: AMD/x86 (ARM support is available, but testing was limited)
New Features and Improvements
- Add new template:format option for 8-bit pixel format forcing on CPU decode streams
- Add disk_usage_threshold_mb to stream-trans config to set disk usage threshold for file outputs, HLS recording and offline sessions.
- Add rtmp_pull input support
- Support configurable relative_probe_size to allow scaling probesize to the analyze_duration parameter
- Add srt_listener output support
- Add stream CSV export and CSV import for bulk stream creation
- Support http2
- Drop with notification unrecognisable audio/video tracks. If no audio tracks give notification, for WHIP reject
- Alert notifications for large and atypical jumps in source timestamps
Resolved Issues
- "Outdated template" warning is now consistent with playback restarts. Restarting an individual playback reloads the template from the most up-to-date version and clears the warning if it was raised previously
- Fix Input Stream Details incorrect video details for certain HLS/DASH ladder inputs
- mpegts input timestamp wraparound consideration for restarted streams in cmaf output mode
- Stop polling firmware update status after logout causing repeating "The login has expired please log in again" popups on login page
- Correct notify domain API endpoint on Account Settings -> Notifications
- General reliability and speed improvements to stream probing before transcode
- Fix Template setting for subtitle conversion by language requires repeat of language issue.
- RTMP inputs: Detect and notify or reject sources with unrecognisable codecs at probe time rather than starting a stream that produces silent or dead output
- Offline session names, source URLs, and output paths now handle '/', '%', and '' correctly. Live playback Output Name accepts '/' (creates a recording directory hierarchy) and rejects ''.
Known Issues
- Changing the template for HLS/DASH playback that has recording enabled while the stream is running can cause recording to fail
Release v2.11.0 - March 11th, 2026
Requirements
- Quadra Firmware v5.5.1
- Blackmagic SDK Version 15.0
New Features and Improvements

- Enhance error reporting for push output failures
- Support configurable push_rw_timeout to prevent outputs from hanging when remote server did not reply
- Post warnings when Quadra FW version below required version. NOTE: manual FW upgrades while stream-trans is running will not reflect new version until docker restart
- Automatically stop HLS recording if the target disk has less than 10GB or 10% of free space left

- Minor fixes for input stream details table accuracy
- Freeze template data when a stream starts. Refresh template for running streams when a playback is restarted
Known Issues
- Changing the template for HLS/DASH playback that has recording enabled while the stream is running can cause recording to fail
- "Outdated template is used" warning in Stream Details Page will only reset when entire stream is restarted. Individual playback re-enable will grab latest template but will not reset warning
- Template setting for subtitle conversion by language requires repeat of language to get 2nd, 3rd, etc. copy of the same language. For example if there are two subtitle streams "eng" in a source, to process both: "eng","eng" or "*" must be used. A single "eng" will only process the first
