Setup Macnica MEP100

Verify MEP100

Verify the MEP100 has been detected by the system using lspci

sudo lspci -d 1916:

Example

c5:00.0 Multimedia controller: Device 1916:0016 (rev 01)
c5:00.1 Unassigned class [ff00]: Device 1916:0017 (rev 01)

Install Packages

sudo apt install -y net-tools ethtool linuxptp dkms numactl libnuma-dev 

Disable timesyncd

sudo systemctl disable systemd-timesyncd
sudo apt remove ntp -y

Update Grub

1. Edit grub file sudo nano /etc/default/grub and add "amd_iommu=off" to the GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT
2. Update grub: sudo update-grub and reboot sudo reboot

sudo mkdir -p /etc/macnica/mep100
sudo cp mep100_54bcea1fe9a612ab.lic /etc/macnica/mep100/

Install MEP100 Driver

tar -xvf macnica-mep100-driver-*.tar.gz
cd macnica-mep100-driver-*/
sudo dpkg -i mep100-dkms_*_amd64.deb

Disable Network Interface Auto Config

sudo apt-get install network-manager -y
sudo nmcli device set maceth0 autoconnect off
sudo nmcli device set maceth1 autoconnect off
sudo reboot now

Setup MEP100 Manager Service Init and Card IP Service

sudo mv macnica-init.sh /usr/local/bin
sudo chmod +x /usr/local/bin/macnica-init.sh
sudo mv macnica-init.service /etc/systemd/system/
sudo chown root:root /etc/systemd/system/macnica-init.service
sudo systemctl daemon-reload
sudo systemctl enable macnica-init
sudo systemctl start macnica-init
sudo systemctl status macnica-init
sudo reboot now
