NETINT Overview

NETINT is a supplier of high-performance, low-latency, real-time Video Processing Units (VPUs) compatible with both x86 and ARM servers. This guide describes the NETINT video processing family of products called Quadra.

NETINT provides stream transcoding functions and services directly to video content providers, and Transcoding as a Service (TaaS) providers, for integration into their video streaming systems and services.

NETINT’s functions and services can be used for both highly efficient Video-on-Demand file transcoding as well as real-time live video streaming applications.

The guide covers both transcoding parameters and the methods by which Quadra can be integrated into transcoding workflows.

 Purpose of this document

This quick start guide provides an overview on how to quickly setup and start using the NETINT video transcoding unit.

It describes some of the more important transcoding parameters, and how they can be used and configured to integrate with other NETINT services and solutions.

This Quick Start guide uses FFmpeg and the Linux operating system.

More details on how to setup other environments and configurations, including other OSes like Android and Windows, and also for using Docker/Containers and VMs, can be found in the more detailed Installation Guide section included with your release package.
