Troubleshooting

While decoding, encoding or transcoding, if the following error message appears then please check to make sure all Quadra resources are initialized. Initialization must be performed every time the host system is booted.

Error shm_open NI_SHM_CODERS ..: No such file or directory

To initialize all Quadra resources run the following command

init_rsrc 

If it is necessary to forcefully re-initialize Quadra resources (e.g. after libxcoder is updated, even without a subsequent reboot) then please execute the following:

rm /dev/shm/NI_*
init_rsrc
