Build GStreamer Plugin

Since the 5.4.0 release, the Quadra GStreamer plugin has achieved loose coupling with the GStreamer framework by leveraging the stable ABI (Application Binary Interface) provided by GStreamer. This architectural design enables the GStreamer framework and the Quadra plugin to be compiled and installed independently, although a strict sequential dependency remains: the GStreamer core must be installed prior to the Quadra plugin build.

Users have two available approaches to compile and install the Quadra GStreamer plugin. For the first approach, you can use the script described in Section 4.1 to install it. The second approach is applicable when GStreamer has already been successfully built from the official GStreamer sources. In this case, users may directly clone the Quadra GStreamer plugin from its dedicated GitHub repository and perform a standalone build. The specific steps for the second approach are outlined below:

  1. Download the required libxcoder dependency:
git clone https://github.com/NETINT-Technologies/netint_libxcoder.git
git checkout [desired-version]
  1. Clone the Quadra GStreamer plugin repository and execute the build script:
git clone https://github.com/NETINT-Technologies/netint_gst_plugins.git
git checkout [desired-version]
./build_ni_gst_plugins.sh -i
note

Due to the absence of NETINT specific patches applied to the GStreamer framework, this standalone build approach lacks a small number of features that are available when using the first (fully integrated) method. The steps above are provided as a general reference.
