Install FFmpeg

The instructions below will build FFmpeg using NETINT’s public repo.

Install libxcoder​

The installation of libxcoder MUST be completed before installing FFmpeg

Install FFmpeg​

To use the VPU for video processing, a custom application using the libxcoder API needs to be created. Alternatively FFmpeg will need to be installed. The VPU device may also require a firmware upgrade, depending on how you access the VPU device your service provider may have to perform the upgrade on your behalf.

  1. Install required packages
sudo apt-get update 
sudo apt-get install pkg-config git gcc make g++ yasm nvme-cli
  1. Clone the libxcoder Github repo
git clone https://github.com/NETINT-Technologies/netint_ffmpeg
cd netint_ffmpeg
  1. Build FFmpeg with Support NETINT's Quadra VPU.
bash build_ffmpeg.sh

See options using bash build_ffmpeg.sh -h

  1. Update libraries and install FFmpeg
sudo ldconfig
sudo make install
